Feb 04 2010 - Art & Design University of Michigan : Career Fair : Portfolio review

The annual A&D Career Expo is a wonderful opportunity for students to meet with potential employers and alums for jobs, internships, feedback on portfolios, career exploration, and advice. The event took place in the Street Gallery Hall, near the Slusser Gallery on the first floor of the Art and Architecture Building, from 11:00am to 2:00pm on Thursday, February 4, 2010.

ASC was invited for portfolio review at the Career expo. It was a great day to drive to Ann Arbor and talk with bright young students and listen and guide their aspirations. It was great to engage with many creative minds and letting them know about the career prospects and the kind of strategic thinking required for today’s economy. It's always great to interact with the A&D School and staff and they hosted a great event that day.

Jan 14 2010 - AW Design Forum at CCS Argonaut Building

This year’s, the 16th AW Design Forum’s theme was "Renaissance of Design," and the venue is an architectural gem, the original General Motors' historic Argonaut Building. Just to walk within the walls who saw Harly Earl design the brand imagery for GM cars was moving.

It is always a great time in Detroit when the best of the auto world transcends in the city during the NAIAS and the parallel events. It was a great event to meet friends and catch up. The speaker panel was impressive and we were reminded more than once, to sway away from the “similar” look of design. Dave Myures did a fantastic job on the urban mobility topic and Icon Aircraft design was awesome, I should get mine booked for just $139K !

Nov22 - Dec 05 2009 - Business Developemt - Dubai

2009 was a great year for strategic business development. Especially it ended on an international note with having Jeevak travel to Dubai for business development. It was a great exposure to this part of the world, and it was quite amazing to see the urban mobility solutions that were in use, especially the brand new “Metro Transit” train system, as the main link for public transportation in Dubai city.

Visits were also made to Abu Dhabi Yass Marina circuit, where the 2009 Formula 1 Race was proudly held and especially to the great visionary site for “Masdar city”, aimed to be a world benchmark for urban mobility, sustainability, LEED architecture and just way-cool wicked design.

Aug 29 2009 - IDSA MI : Design Exchange Event

ASC was a sponsoring member for the 2009 IDSA MI Design exchange event. We enjoy our relationship with this amazing design organization. The event was a great success with over 100 in the audience. The speaker panel was an absolute hit, and the feedback received was very promising.

Kurt Bailey talked about “no more porridge” , John Miller gave an astounding talk on “Product Creation” followed by an presentation from Bill Ochalek on “Design Research” and lastly Dave Busch gave an presentation about their commercial electric vehicle "IDEA". Stay tuned for the 2010 event…
